Routine, is it good or bad?
What is your routine like?
Do you have healthy habits?
If so, how long can you keep them?
Around here, routine is essential, since I have a mostly autistic population living in my home 🙂 Let’s make it clear that we work on everyone’s cognitive rigidity, so routine is not a problem.
In fact, it helps a lot, since maintaining habits considered healthy is the difference for any objective, including improving social behavior, eating behavior, emotional behavior…
Planning and consistency are directly linked to routine. For example, every day my afternoon coffee is a bucket with 2 fruits, oat bran, powdered milk, natural yogurt, flaxseed, cinnamon and some variations such as cereals or nuts or peanut butter… For breakfast, it’s 500ml of water when I wake up, coffee with unsweetened milk and whole grain bread with eggs and sometimes I can’t even finish it, my intestine knows it’s its time.
I eat lunch at the same time every day, even on weekends, and when I plan a more fun meal with my children, like a burger or pizza, we eat a lot of vegetables first.
Routine is not bad, routine saves.
See you soon!
