Creamy Banana Frappe with Coffee
I love coffee!
Anyway, but I confess that in the morning, very warm, freshly cooked without sugar, hummm… Delicious!
There are some records that explain the origin of coffee, but the best known is that it began to be consumed by humans in Ethiopia, an African country, where they fed on the sweet pulp of its fruit, chewed or made tea from its leaves and also the fermented, producing an alcoholic drink. The Arabs quickly mastered the technique of planting and preparing coffee, thus popularizing the drink.
Because it had a pleasant taste and because it was stimulating, coffee was a fashionable product worthy of large investments. The growing interest in the drink allowed its “globalization” and facilitated cultural intervention both in terms of consumption and planting techniques.
Its aroma is unique as is its flavor and in addition, it has several bioactive compounds, including phytochemicals, terpenes and polyphenols. One of these compounds is chlorogenic acid, a phenolic compound that has antioxidant, neuroprotective and hypoglycemic activity.
But be careful, when consumed in excess, it can cause side effects such as insomnia, as it is a central nervous system stimulant and increases alertness, energy and the ability to concentrate. It can also cause tachycardia, anxiety and tremors. Daily consumption should be moderate, because each person reacts differently and preferably up to 6 hours before bedtime.
Coffee has substances that increase intestinal peristalsis, thus moving the fecal cake through the system, relaxing the colon and may help with evacuation. But it shouldn’t cause pain or discomfort, if it happens, consult a professional you trust.
And is there only one way to drink coffee? Of course not, there are other ways that can also be good and please, especially those who say they don’t like coffee very much.
A different and nutritious way is the creamy coffee banana frappe:
Ingredients:
1 sliced and frozen banana
1 shot of coffee (80 ml – espresso or stronger strained)
150 ml of milk of your choice
1 coffee spoon of cinnamon
ice cubes
2 tablespoons of milk powder of your choice (or protein powder)
1 tbsp cocoa (70% or more)
Method of preparation:
Blend the chopped and frozen bananas, milk, cinnamon and coffee dose in a blender until smooth. Put it in a glass already with the ice cubes.
In a separate pot, put the powdered milk and cocoa (or the desired protein powder), add milk or water little by little until you get a cream, pour over the frappe and that’s it.
Tips:
– Instead of powdered milk cream and cocoa (or powdered protein) you can use honey.
– If you like coffee and have leftovers from the day before, make coffee ice cubes, it will be even tastier.
– You can put less milk and make it thicker, to eat with a spoon. Throw granola on top and the cream you find most delicious.
There’s a way for everything in life, except for the “super coffee…”
Enjoy! See you soon.
